Engineering history on rails
Nässjö Railway Museum is one of Sweden’s oldest railway heritage associations, founded as early as 1965.
Experience nostalgia and how comfortable it was to travel by train in the past; with electric, steam or diesel locomotives and our train from the 1960s, the most comfortable ever to have run on Swedish rails.
Are you a group or want to do something that isn’t really part of a public excursion? No problem, we can take you to both Eksjö and Kiruna, the boundaries are set by your desires.
Experience railway history with a focus on Nässjö. Our superb exhibition contains something for both old and young.
Höglandståg is a modular meet in Nässjö, aimed at a broad audience. The event is held in a 1400m² space at Brinell High School’s sports hall in Nässjö.

Fantastic staff, excellent food and a wonderful destination. Can really recommend that everyone take a ride with these train enthusiasts. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Very well organised trip.
Really well-executed excursion. I have been riding along with you for 20 years and would gladly do so again. Hopefully we don’t cause a forest fire next time we take the steam train. However, I’m very satisfied with the excursion and would gladly do it again.

The staff on and around the train were really good and were service-minded. I think it’s good and important that these kinds of associations exist that give all of their soul to preserving this for the future. Have spent two fantastic days with Nässjö Railway Museum.

Travelling by steam train is the best!
It is always just as pleasant to get to travel by train with all these lovely people!! It is either pulled by a steam locomotive or a diesel locomotive! Both types are interesting from the perspective of engineering history! In addition, there is always something good to eat!

It was an eventful day.
It was an eventful day, riding a steam train from Nässjö to Oskarshamn. 150th anniversary. Stopped at small stations. Really felt like we were travelling back in time. Thank you Nässjö Railway Museum.

Pleasant staff
Good signage, very clean, good range of food.
Good to have longer stops at the stations along the route. This allows you to go out and look at the locomotive and carriages.
Good with longer time breaks at the stations, the itinerary is added. Therefore, you could go out and look at the locomotives and carriages.
