KJ 17 (A5 1545)

KJ 17, also known as SJ A5 1545

The steam locomotive KJ 17, also known as SJ A5 1545, is a Swedish steam locomotive with a rich history. It was manufactured in 1930 by AB Motala Verkstad with production number 742. Over the years, KJ 17 has been part of the collections of several railway museums and is a popular feature at our railway events. The locomotive represents an important part of Sweden's railway history as it has been both in private ownership (Kalmar Järnvägar) and then in SJ's A5 version, and is a fine example of Swedish engineering from the 1930s.
